World's tallest teenager: 17-year-old Rumeisa Gelgi from Turkey

17-year-old Rumeisa Gelgi (Rumeysa Gelgi) from Turkey hit the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest teenager alive. Its growth is as much as 2 meters and 14 centimeters and it is due to a rare genetic disease called Weaver syndrome, which is characterized by excessive growth of the bone apparatus.

A 17-year-old girl from Turkey, whose height is 2.14 meters, has been officially announced as the tallest female teenager in the world.

Rumeisa Gelgi, during a special presentation, received an award from the Guinness Book of Records in her hometown of Safranbolu, Karabyuk.

The girl is in the 11th grade of secondary school and lives with her parents and older siblings, whose height is absolutely normal.

Its phenomenal growth is due to a condition called Weaver syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes rapid growth.

In addition to being overly tall, Rumeisa’s arms are 24.5 centimeters long, and the girl’s foot is 30.5 centimeters long – the equivalent of 47 men’s shoes, which is why women’s shoes are made to order in America.

The giantism of Rumeisa prevents the girl from living a normal life and moving fully. She has a specially designed wheelchair and walker that helps her move.

The girl admitted that ridicule from others no longer upset her, she understands that people laugh at her because of ignorance. Instead of negative emotions, Rumeisa tries to find the positive sides of her appearance and claims that she likes to be different from everyone else and feel special.

Doctors say the girl will no longer grow, so she will not be able to beat the record of the tallest living person Sultan Kosen, whose height is 2.51 meters.
