Pomegranate helps to deceive hunger and prevent overeating

Regular consumption of pomegranate extract, according to scientists, can give a person a sense of fullness, freeing him from overeating.

Experts from the University of Queen Margaret in Edinburgh had attracted to participate in the experiment, volunteers who for three weeks every day taking supplements with pomegranate extract. They reported that in the period of the study felt less hungry, in comparison with participants in the control group who received a placebo. To all the volunteers during the meal gave the same amount, but the people who took supplements, on average, ate 22% less. They get more satisfaction from eating.

In the experiment, the researchers used a pomegranate extract, containing the skin, pulp and seeds of the fruit. All volunteers on the last day of observations had to drink a glass of pomegranate juice before you eat a portion of pasta with tomato sauce. Within 15 minutes before a meal and two hours after a meal, the study participants shared their impressions about the severity of hunger which they had, and then saturation. Volunteers who for three weeks pomegranate extract, 12% felt less hungry and 16% more satiated after a meal, and also 15% more satisfied eaten food.
