In Japan will create an environmentally friendly unmanned submarine

The phrase “green submarine” may sound strange in any country, except perhaps Japan. The Ministry of Defense of this country has put forward such an initiative, instructing to create a boat with a unique electro-chemical engine, which is the most environmentally friendly, emission-free and maintains the work for a month.

It is noteworthy that the boat does not require long-term autonomy, and the declared 30 days will suit the customer. And all because the boat is designed to work without a crew, that is, it is an unmanned underwater vehicle with a length of only 10 meters. Its main purpose is to become a reliable means of surveillance, while weapons on its board the boat will not carry. Apparently, it can become almost invisible and collect data about a possible enemy at sea depths depending on the task assigned to it.

One hundred submarines worth $25 million are expected to join the Japanese Navy in five years.
