Sirga the lioness hugs his best friend (video)

Despite the fact that lions are considered to be formidable animals, sometimes they behave almost like home seals. An example of this — the lioness Sirga from the reserve Modisa in Botswana.

One of the founders of the Park, Valentin grüner, cared for her almost since she was born, and the beast, apparently, really grateful to him — as soon as you open door to the Park, Sirga rushes to hands to Gruner, which is almost one with her, even to cuddle.

Traveller John Hawkins shot this sweet scene in the video. He said that Gruner gets along well with animals. "WEL — conservationist of physical Sirga almost from birth. This guy is very inspiring. He takes her on game walks, where she can even choose to hunt."

Gruner founded the Modisa project together with a colleague from Germany. The reserve preserves and protects big cats at large in a fenced area. "The Park began its work on the conservation of lions and other big cats, which can kill local farmers," says Gruner.

Park Modisa conducts research on the ecosystem of the Kalahari desert, which occupies most of Botswana. Conservationists are monitoring birds and plants.

It is worth noting that the Park welcome the volunteers and travelers. So, in the autumn of 2013 there has been photographer Nicolai Frederik Bonnin the Rossen. He did a lot of amazing photos with lions, which, judging by the pictures, really love to cuddle with people. Incidentally, he also photographed the lioness Sirga, who, he said, weighed about 90 pounds.
