Eco-house with negative energy consumption

In the world there are buildings with zero energy consumption: they are able to produce electricity from renewable sources and rationalize its use. But recently, a home that is not only Autonomous in terms of energy, but also ready to share it with the city.

This building was recently built in the Norwegian city of Larvik supervised by the respective research center. Christian Edwards, Manager of the architecture firm Snohetta, developing the project, said he understands the ambition of goal quite difficult to create a house that produces twice as much electricity than is needed for self-sufficiency.

The roof of the pilot house is made with a slope to absorb sunlight during the year and to promote natural ventilation of the building. The project developers did not want to put technology at the forefront: the house should be a home, not a set of electrical sensors. Therefore, the Windows of the building open up completely and give fresh air in the room. Also housing is designed to take maximum advantage of natural light (however, not to overheat the room) Sunny Norwegian summer. Christian Edwards explains that, among other things, the developers planned to use curtains and blinds: so there is an atrium gives a huge amount of light and no darkness. In house project included outdoor pool, which is heated by the excesses Telpa. The electric car is powered by the home network and serves as a storage for excess energy produced by the building.

During operation of the building systems engineers will test various devices for heating and water heating, measuring their effectiveness.

It is expected that in the coming years at home with negative energy consumption will become widespread in Norway, and therefore in the country are already discussing where to send the excess generated electricity and to pay the owners of such houses. So, in Bergen is planned to accommodate 700-800 such mini-plants.

The house with negative energy consumption is a pilot project of the research centre ZEB (Zero Emission Building). The goal of his team is to completely stop greenhouse gas emissions in the Earth's atmosphere. And since ZEB sets building codes in the state, there is a high probability that in the next 10-15 years, construction of all houses in Norway will meet the new environmental standards. published
