Adequate self-evaluation

I thought I had discovered a universal law. It turns out that multiple studies in different areas have long proved it.

“The only thing that unites all people, regardless of age, gender, religion, earnings or nationality, is that deep down we all believe we drive better than average.” Journalist Dave Barry, 1998

Ethics

Most people think they are more ethical than the average businessman. One study asked, “How do you rate your ethics and moral values on a scale of 1 to 100 (100 is ideal)?” Exactly half of the respondents rated themselves at 90% or higher.
Lovett, 1997

Professionalism

90% of managers believe that professionalism is above average. France, 1968

Australians are more modest. Only 86% rated themselves above average. And 1% below average. Headey and Wearing, 1987

Morality

In the Netherlands, most high school students rated themselves as more honest, out-of-the-box, friendly and reliable than the average. Hurens, 1993, 1995

Intelligence.

Most people think they are smarter, more beautiful, more objective than the average person. Lassiter and Manhol, 2001

Parental care

Most people think they care more about their parents than a brother or sister. Larwood, 1978

Health

In Los Angeles, families think they are healthier than their neighbors. Students expect to live an average of 10 years longer than predicted.

Driving.

Most drivers, even those who have been hospitalized after an accident, believe they drive better and safer than the average person. Guerin, 1994; McKenna and Myers, 1997; Swanson, 1981

Indeed, people’s self-esteem is limitless.

P.S. And remember, just by changing your consciousness – together we change the world!
