Volkswagen intends over the next ten years to produce about 30 models on electric, which is 20-25 percent of the total sales. In total, by 2025, the German manufacturer will produce two to three million electric vehicles annually. This was stated by the head of Volkswagen Matthias Mueller during a presentation of the group's development strategy called "Together — Strategy 2025".





According to Mueller, the new development strategy of the group aims to reduce the number of models (of all brands 340) and reduction in number of modular platforms from 12 to four. This will mean that Volkswagen will cease to use the chassis NSF (it is built only compact car up!), architectural MLB (Audi A4, A6, A8 and Q7) and MSB (e.g., Porsche Panamera). Instead, they will have four types of platforms: compact, mid-size, premium cars and sports cars.To expand the range of electric vehicles Volkswagen will build its own plant for the production of batteries, which in scale compared with "Gigaparts" of Tesla Motors. The plant will cost the group 10 billion euros and will be located 50 kilometers from the headquarters of Volkswagen in Wolfsburg.





In addition, in 2021 should appear fully Autonomous car, developed by Volkswagen themselves. The company also confirmed the emergence of a budget car for Asia market and cooperation with the taxi service Gett. published
