Hybrid power plant to be built in Australia

Australian authorities plan to build a hybrid plant with a capacity of 375 megawatts, powered by wind and sun, in the South of the continent.

The project developer DP Energy said that the approval decision on the construction of the power plant by the Australian government means that it can be implemented one of the largest and most significant projects in the field of renewable energy sources in the southern hemisphere, which will be used 59 wind turbines and almost 400 hectares of solar panels.

The company has proposed the construction of several similar power plants by processing the energy of wind and sun, near Port Augusta in South Australia. According to managing Director Simon de Pietro, in may 2016 DP Energy has announced plans for the construction and received strong support from the population of areas where planned construction of power plants. "Overall the response was positive and many appreciated the benefits to be derived by the local population," he said. The project, whose cost is estimated at 680 million Australian dollars, will enable the region to initially create 250 jobs and then increase this number to 600. DP Energy stated that it plans to maximise the opportunities for local socially responsible companies in the course of the project to obtain a population of maximum economic benefits.

Another advantage, which will give the project will be the integration of the various technologies that will allow us to deliver electricity to areas that need it the most. This will give the opportunity to reduce the load on the electricity network during peak loads and to reduce the use of peaking plants. published
