Capacity of all solar power plants in India reached 8 GW
Indian solar power updated a new important indicator to 8 GW of installed capacity, which is another step towards an ambitious goal to reach 100 GW of installed capacity of all solar power plants in the country by 2022.
The total capacity of all solar power plants in the country connected to a single network exceeded 8 GW in the end of July. Now 29 States and Union territories of India are under large solar power plants connected to the network.
The Ministry announced its target to install 12 GW of solar capacity in the period from April 2016 to March 2017. In the period from 1 April to 31 July 2016 was added a total of 1,300 MW of new solar generating capacity.
In the period from September 2015 to July 2016, India has doubled the installed capacity of all solar power plants in the country. Although the level of solar generation in the country is very impressive, it still lags behind the desired speed adding power to achieve the goal in this fiscal year.
In addition to the 8 GW of capacity connected to the network, India also has more than 300 MW of distributed power in the field of solar generation. published
