In the north-east of Thailand, north of the city Kumphavapi and about 50 km from Udon Thani, it is a lake, called Nong Han. But the locals call it Talay Bua Daeng, which means "sea of red lotus».
Each year, from November to March, the lake surface is covered with millions of pink lotus flowers, which reach full bloom in December.
