Lake Red Lotus in Thailand

In the north-east of Thailand, north of the city Kumphavapi and about 50 km from Udon Thani, it is a lake, called Nong Han. But the locals call it Talay Bua Daeng, which means "sea of ​​red lotus».





Each year, from November to March, the lake surface is covered with millions of pink lotus flowers, which reach full bloom in December. The ideal time to see them - this is the first half of the day, when the flowers are fully open. At this time they have a bright pink color and a lot of tourists at this time riding a boat to admire the magnificent scenery throughout the day.

Freshwater Lake Nong Han Kumphavapi very shallow, with an average depth of just one meter, but it is the main source of the river Pao.
