Egyptian sights without tourists

For centuries, tourists come to Egypt to see the pyramids of ancient and historical monuments. But in recent years the number of travelers visiting the country dropped significantly, especially after the revolution of 2011.





According to the latest data, in 2014, Egypt was visited by 9.9 million. Tourists, while in 2010 - 14, 7 million. The Minister of Tourism of Egypt, said recently that this year the number of visitors to the country will be about 10 million people.

In 2014, photographer Ben Terzza (Ben Terzza) for a few months moved from Wales to Egypt, along with his girlfriend, which was offered a teaching job. Once they were in Cairo, they are overcome by a feeling of disappointment. After all, a place previously filled to overflowing with tourists, were completely empty.

They had to walk near the sights alone, and only the locals all the time bothered by constant requests for money.

"I did not expect that near the Pyramids of Giza is so empty and eerie," - says photographer Ben Terzza.
