The body length of stick insects-record holder is 56 cm, considering the length of the elongated limbs.

Insect, named Phobaeticus chani, was found by local residents on the island of Borneo. In 1989, the sample was in the hands of a Malaysian amateur naturalist Datuk Chanchulunyu (Datuk Chan Chew Lun), where he remained until recently, it has not yet been identified by a member of the British Museum of Natural History.

The insect is a so-called stick insects. These creatures got their name for the body shape, which resembles a long stick. Such an appearance helps the insects to successfully hide from predators in the branches of trees and shrubs.
