Icebergs are striped

Most often found on icebergs blue and green stripes, but there can be brown. This phenomenon often occurs in the Southern Hemisphere.

Icebergs "are painted" in a process called "reverse snow" in which underwater ice crystals float to the surface. The microparticles of marine creatures such as krill, are stored in these crystals, which later become part of the iceberg.
