With the help of a thin transparent film can be obtained electricity

Physico-Technical Institute of AF Ioffe discovered an experimental production line for solar modules. Specially for this purpose was created the Scientific and Technical Center of thin-film technologies, the financing of which is carried out in the framework of the innovative project "Skolkovo».

On the new line with capacity of 0, 5 MW will be conducted research work on improvement of the technical characteristics of thin-film photovoltaic modules. The tasks set by the experimenters is to improve the efficiency of the modules up to 13% and the introduction of alternative raw materials that will reduce production costs. Customer of the project is the company Oerlikon Solar, Switzerland. It is considered the world leader in the application of coatings micromorph - "thin films" based on silicon. It is expected that after completion of the experiment mass production of new solar modules will be established in the Chuvash Republic.

Independent diesel solar power, which can be collected from the solar modules will allow to combine the diesel fuel and solar generation, RIAN reports. This will allow consumers to use power in the days when the sun is not visible.

The use of solar energy for the generation of thin film is much more profitable use of solar panels, because a thin transparent film can be pasted on the wall of the building and on the windowpanes.
