Sweet Life and death in the works of Joseph Marr
Australian artist Joseph Marr creates delicious sculptures of skulls and people heating sugar to extremely high temperatures - 186 degrees Celsius. When sugar begins to cool, the sculptor is only a few minutes out to form the skull - or the human figure.
"Working with the sugar well, and surprisingly, it is the color and texture, a little similar to the paint," - says Marr. In his works, the sculptor works with the theme of death, love, passion and struggle.
