Superfast stars - a source of knowledge about other galaxies and possible peddler life

Cosmologists have discovered a new way of getting information about distant regions of space and a new opportunity to "contamination" life on the planet. Abraham Loeb and James Guillohon Harvard University studied superfast stars that travel through space at speeds of the order of half the speed of light. Such stars are launched into intergalactic space binary systems of black holes, which are obtained by collisions of galaxies.

Usually the properties of distant objects in astrophysics can study only on the basis of come down to us managed to fly radiation or particles - which, of course, can get to us from the power only in a straight line (not counting small deviations possible due to the gravitational action). However, in the universe there is some carriers of information that may be available to the tenacious human eye, armed with appropriate technology. Stray superfast stars do not even have to fly into our region of the galaxy - we get their radiation and it can study them and draw conclusions.

The stars in the galaxy typically move at speeds of several hundred kilometers per second relative to their neighbors. But in 1988, astronomer Jack Hills predicted that the effect of gravitational "slingshot" can disperse the star to thousands of kilometers per second. At those speeds star is already able to leave the galaxy and take a long trip abroad. Even within our own galaxy have a couple dozen stars , leaving her at tremendous speeds - perhaps even a black hole in the center of the Milky Way was able to disperse them so.

Loeb and Guillohon estimated that binary systems of black holes colliding galaxies can disperse the stars to relativistic velocities of the order of one-third or more. On the scale of the universe clashes should be commonplace, so that space can be filled with similar traveler ultra high - about one hundred thousand per cubic gigaparsek. Scientists hope that the next generation of telescopes will be able to discover and study these stars. In addition, these stars can drag the small space of the body, which can serve as carriers of life between galaxies.
