Colorful ghost town in the Andes

Sewell town in the municipality of Machala, Chile, was built in 1905 by Braden Copper as a home for workers the world's largest underground copper mine. Over time, the town has grown in the Andes hundreds of colored houses in which lived the miners.

At the peak of popularity in the city's population of 15 000 people. But in the late 60s of last century copper mining industry was nationalized, and Sewell quickly emptied. Decades later, he still stands a colorful spot in the midst of the mountains.
