Ending sharklets can improve the aerodynamics of the aircraft due to the increase in the effective extension of the wing and reduce induced drag created by breaking the end of a whirlwind swept wing. According to Airbus, they allow you to increase the range of about 185 km, payload - 450 kg and reduce fuel consumption by 4% / Each sharklet on 95% consists of a composite material and in spite of its impressive size (height of 2, 4 meters ) has a weight of only 40 kg.

Currently we have two aircraft Airbus A-320 S7 Airlines c serial numbers VP-BOJ and VP-BOG equipped with new winglets.
