The Kingdom of the Dwarves
Most people with disabilities seriously feel inferior members of society. They are often victims of discrimination, self-pity, or something worse - ridicule from others. Unfortunately, they rarely manage to find their purpose in life, to engage in a welcome thing, and use the maximum potential. But there are examples that demonstrate how people can turn their misfortune into virtue. Thus, in mid-2009, Chen Mintszin suffering from pituitary dwarfism syndrome (dwarf), founded 40 km from Kunming in China's Yunnan province village called "The Kingdom of the Dwarves." Its residents are more than 100 dwarfs in age from 18 to 50 years. Height of the highest resident does not exceed 130 cm. All the buildings in the village, including a school, shops and a hospital, reminiscent of illustrations from children's books or pictures from fantasy. This design was chosen to attract tourists. Guests are held and guided tours - at the expense of tourism and locals live.
