Armor King of England
Armor, which are depicted in this photo, in due time was made a master Richard Holden and taken December 14, 1686 the King of England Jacob II. For his work, the master was a fantastic sum for those times at 100 pounds. At the moment it is the only surviving such an ornate armor.
The kit includes a helmet, breastplate, visor and protection of the left forearm. In principle, this protection is not very different from the breastplate and helmet modern cavalry, but in this case the armor is very artfully decorated with perforation and engraving, originally gilded. Helm also decorated with carvings and has the initials of king - Iacobus Rex and the royal coat of arms with the image of a lion and a unicorn. Breastplate also has a sufficient thickness to save his owner from a musket bullets hit.
Photo helmet larger.
By the way, King James II was overthrown in 1688 and fled to France, where he died in 1701 at age 67.
