This costume is called a wingsuit.
This costume is called a wingsuit. Wingsuit flights are a type of skydiving.
Under the cut a bit of historical facts, description, and of course the exciting video of unimaginable beauty, mad drive guaranteed even viewing!
Despite the seemingly obvious idea of wings on hand, wingsuit efficient scheme was formulated only in the mid-1990s. History has preserved the names of the inventors of the wings 75 of the "bat", who tried to jump from the various designs of his own invention. Almost all of them were killed. Because of the extremely high mortality rates in the 1950s the American Federation of parachuting USPA even forbade any test wing of the "bat", and this ban lasted until the end of the 1980s
In the mid-1990s, Frenchman Patrick de Gayardon invented the modern wingsuit:
three wings instead of two;
bilayer wings, inflatable incident flow (ram-air).
All three are within the fabric of the wing ribs, inflated incident flow through the air inlets, and when flying forward parachutist create lift. Furthermore, the pressure inside the wing creates the necessary stiffness, without which it would be difficult wing hand hold.
Appearance
Aerodynamic design
Figure wingsuit with jet nozzle.
Flights wingsuit share many moments with jumping on trechku (Eng. Tracking, track diving). Formal minimum to start flying in wingsuit is the level of 200 jumps. All major manufacturers wingsuit promote their courses and instructors wingsuit students.
Flight wingsuit most similar to the flight of birds. Skydiver wingsuit flying forward, not down. The vertical component of the speed of 80-100 km / h enables to extend the deployment of the parachute flight up to two minutes. Top pilots can fly with quality 2, 5 (with a fair wind - up to 3), that is, the height of kilometer flown 2, 5 km to the horizon
