At the corner of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Sadovaya, on the building Eliseevsky deli, a place where with a small sculpture of a cat. It appeared there in 2000 through the efforts of the sculptor Vladimir Petrovicheva, historian Sergei Lebedev and architect Larissa Domracheva. The cat is made of cast iron and called Elisha. According to legend, black cat helped Count Shuvalov cope with the evil spirit, which in the middle of the XVIII century prevented the architect to build the palace of Count Kokorinov.
Monument to cat Elisha was among those where tourists throw small coin "for luck." And enterprising locals from time to time collect the fines.
