Under the stairs there are 35 pipes with holes for the audio output (the whistle) on the sidewalk. Movement of the sea pushes air through them, and, depending on the size and velocity of the wave are obtained musical chords. The waves create random harmonic sounds.
This masterpiece of architecture and acoustics architect Nikola Bašić created in 2005. As a result of the movement of waves and wind the atmosphere above the water moves entering the end openings. Depending on how these air vibrations occur - how fast and how hard - produce different sounds coming from the upper holes. "Sea organ" specially configured - each of his pipe emits a certain tone.
The sound comes out of the pipes through the uppermost rung. Seven of the following groups of pipes alternately tuned two octaves diatonic chord. Match Result tones and / or time-dependent chord and air distribution of the wave energy in a specific organ pipes.
Air holes along the top of the column stages allow Maritime Authority "breathe" air, followed by conversion to the sounds, each successive wave plays a song.
At first glance, the Maritime Authority looks quite modest - in the form of a folded ladder neat stone blocks in the top row at the ends of the steps to make a hole, connected with passing in plastic pipes. Pipes, in turn, become the resonant cavity on which the upper part on the other steps are openings ...
Five tubes of each section are placed at a distance of 1.5 meters.
Student standing or sitting at the selected point must hear 5 - 7 tubes. Thus, the five-funnel section configured in a chord.
The result is a meditative sound that lasts continuously, becoming a perpetual concert, and its Adriatic suites, symphonies and sonatas with Sonatina play constantly, never happen again ...
