A collection of heirlooms of the Romanov dynasty
A collection of heirlooms of the Romanov dynasty, recently discovered in Sweden, was sold on Monday at auction at Sotheby's in London for more than 7 million pounds.
At the auction were exhibited about 100 lots - mostly cigarette cases and cufflinks that belonged to the Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna and her husband, Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, the son of Emperor Alexander II and brother of Emperor Alexander III.

The most expensive lot of the evening was a Faberge cigarette case of four-color gold, donated by the Empress Alexandra Fyodorovna Grand Duchess and her husband, 25-year wedding anniversary. The lot was bought by a private collector from the United States for more than 612,000 pounds, which is almost 10 times higher than the estimate of 50-70 thousand
