Deputy Regional Director for Southeast Asia of the international organization in control of the trade in animals, Chris Shepard said: "We applaud all the services that could stop this brazen smuggling. If people are trying to export live tigers in baggage, which is subject to inspection, perhaps they believe that smuggling of wild animals is a harmless activity, as it does not cause them fear punishment. Only severe penalties for such acts can make a difference ».

He called for a strengthening of control and punishment of removal of wild animals.
