The Russian Embassy in Tokyo received an envelope in the mail, which was invested rifle bullet and a letter demanding the return of the northern territories. On receipt of the envelope embassy officials notified the police the night before. Sender's name is not specified in the letter, it was thrown into a mailbox in adjacent to Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture.
