28-year-old Japhet Askal (Yafet Askale) robbed a car parked London's Brent (Brent): thief stole a laptop from the passenger compartment. However, the perpetrator did not have time to sell a stolen gadget, he was detained by police.





According to the tabloid Daily Mail, so prompt arrest was made possible by high-tech trap called "smart water" (SmartWater).

The essence of this method is to use a special liquid that is visible only under ultraviolet scanning



Device «SmartWater» reacts to breaking and automatically fine spray liquid that settles quietly on the body and clothes of the attacker. Chemicals included in the traps have several properties: they are odorless, invisible to the naked eye, not washed from clothing and remain on the skin for weeks. In addition, certain combination of chemicals allows the police to trace the relationship of man with a particular crime.

Some time ago, peace officers have distributed kits «SmartWater» London's Brent residents, explaining the advantages of the new traps and asking them to place it in their homes or cars. The result was not long in coming: the cases of burglaries decreased by 80%, street robberies - at 40%.
