"Today, March 7, was the deadline for payment of the February gas supplies to Ukraine. Payments on account of payment of the debt, "Gazprom" has not received. "Practically, this means that Ukraine ceased to pay for gas. This is completely contrary to the provisions of the contract and international trade practice. For our part we have always fulfilled and will fulfill our contractual obligations. But we can not deliver gas free. Or Ukraine extinguishes the debt and pay for current supplies, or there is a risk return situation in the beginning of 2009. On the emerging situation will inform the Government of the Russian Federation ", - said Miller.
For the first time in the last 5 years in the history of Russian-Ukrainian relations appeared comparison with the beginning of the transit crisis in 2009, when 20 days of Europe were cut off from Russian gas supplies.
