Windows 1.0 released November 20th 1985.
 - Video card CGA / Hercules / EGA (or compatible)
 - MS-DOS 2.0
 - 256 KB Ram

Windows 2.1 officially released on May 27 1988.
Interesting fact: Version 2.10 was released specifically to support the Intel 286 appeared

 - Microsoft mouse - optional

Several versions of Windows 3.1 released between 1992 and 1994.
Interesting fact: The main difference between this version of the operating system was that the system installer refused to run on DOS-systems other than MS-DOS.

 - 1 MB of memory or more (640K and 256K extended basic)
 - 6.5 MB of disk space (recommended 9 MB)

Windows 95, released on August 24 1995.
Interesting fact: The main improvement is the new graphical interface. In fact, the general format and structure of the GUI is still used in Windows.

Windows 98, released June 25, 1998
Interesting Fact: Windows 98 was the first operating system that uses technology to WDM (Windows Driver Model).

 - At least 500 MB of disk space
 - Monitor with VGA resolution or higher

Windows 2000, released on 17 February 2000. It produced three different versions of different system requirements for each.
Interesting fact: Microsoft Windows 2000, advertised as "the standard of reliability" in this system were presented new features such as the Windows Desktop Update, Internet Explorer 5 and Outlook Express. There have also been significant improvements made in Windows Explorer.
The Windows 2000 Professional
 - Pentium-compatible processor with a frequency of 133 MHz or higher
 - 32 MB RAM (64 are recommended for MB)
 - 700 MB of hard disk space (recommended 2 GB)
The Windows 2000 Server / Advanced Server
 - 133 MHz CPU
 - 256 MB RAM minimum
 - 2 GB of hard disk space

Windows Me released on September 24, 2000
Interesting Fact: Windows Me was relevant more than a year, after which it was replaced by Windows XP
 - Pentium processor with a frequency of 150 MHz
 - 32 MB RAM
 - 320 MB of hard disk
Note: This was the last version of Windows subsystem works with MS-DOS in real mode, though access to it was closed.

Windows XP released on October 25 2001.
Below are the minimum requirements for XP Home and Professional.

 - 1.5 GB free hard disk space
 - SVGA video card and monitor
 - CD-ROM drive or DVD

Windows Vista introduced to the public January 30 2007.
