In the south of Peru (Ica region) local paleontologists have discovered the remains of a bird that lived about 35 million years ago, local media reported.
 
According to scientists, most likely the remains of a giant pelican, who lived in the Oligocene epoch (40-23 million years ago). The height of the bird reaches almost two meters.

Fossils preserved traces of the skin. According to the researchers, this unique find, as previously there was no documented evidence of anything similar.

Note that in the region of Ica, where previously there were also remains of ancient sharks, whales and penguins, trail passes "Dakar". This raises serious concerns among scientists who believe that the rally causing very serious damage has not yet made discoveries.
