Porcelain Christmas tree

Christmas tree set annually in the Belgian city of Hasselt in the main square. But this year, it is a unique design.

The tree made entirely of dishes - old porcelain plates and cups. Creative agency Mooz, in the face of designer Inge and Stephen Vanbergena Vanlyud, developed this project together with the locals. According to the vice-mayor Caroline Mondeloers this concept represents the traditional idea of Christmas - to spend time together and share a meal during the holiday. More than 3,000 residents have brought 5,000 dishes for the festive Christmas tree.

The main colors were - white, blue, gold. Project developers have paid attention to the fact that all their relatives, friends and acquaintances at home have a bunch of unnecessary utensils. So the idea to use it in a way.

Giant tree height of 30 feet (more than 9 meters) tall and 20 feet (6 meters) in width will be located on an area of Hasselt to 6 January 2013, hereby testify solidarity residents. When the structure will be demolished, in its place formed a mosaic of porcelain pieces.

On the design of the Christmas tree there are a lot of mixed reviews. Some - I love creative ideas, while others prefer traditional green spruce.
