Glasgow and Milton Keynes in the UK think about the introduction of penalties for gum. In Glasgow, the question was put to the vote in the municipal council representative of Labour Paul Carey. He wants to introduce penalties for those who would spit out chewing gum on the streets. If board members do not support Carey, he will try to introduce a tax on each pack of gum. The collected fines will be used to clean up the city. According to him, the authorities are spending huge amounts of money to pick off the dried gum from sidewalks. Every year, the UK budget on cleaning the city from the gum out of 150 million pounds.
