9000 silhouettes

The beach town of Arromanches-les-Bains in France, there were 9000 human silhouettes. They are made by artists Andy Moss and Jamie Wardley, with the participation of a group of volunteers. The project, entitled «The Fallen» timed to the Day of Peace, 21 September and represents the victims of the Second World War. The purpose of the project to recall the tragic events of June 6, 1944, which killed thousands of soldiers crossing the English Channel from England to Normandy. The whole composition existed before the first tide.
