Photos of 1945-1946 post-war Shanghai
I suggest you look at the color photos of the great post-war Shanghai absolutely amazing quality! Very interesting and informative pictures. These are wonderful trams go, not even the walls posters glorifying the coalition of the USSR-US-Republic of China, United Kingdom.
Just in 1946, the anti-Japanese truce with the Communists came to an end and began the final round of the 25-year civil war in China.
Park Hotel, 1945:

Postwar life quickly adjusted, the city was seething trade:
National leader Chiang Kai-shek, who will rule the Republic of China right up to 1975, and it will lead to prosperity (on any given island, of course):

As such, the Shanghai will stand in 1949 and will remain almost unchanged until the economic reforms of the 1980s:
