This historical monument is considered one of the symbols of Yemen and is located on the territory of the village of Souk Al Wadi that fifteen kilometers from the city of Sanaa, in the famous valley of Wadi Dhar. He often referred to the Imam's palace.

The exact date of construction of the original castle is not known.





Although there is a perception that the first buildings appeared long before the advent of Islam.







In the Middle Ages, the castle was completely destroyed by the Turks, and only in the second half of the eighteenth century was partially restored.





In the thirtieth year of the last century, there was a re-built the palace of the Imam, who became his summer residence.





The very same village, also belonged to him.





Currently, the building houses a museum.





This pattern of Yemeni architecture is a seven-storey building with 35 rooms, pantry and kitchen.









Around the palace are five ruined watchtowers.
