Ball's Pyramid - a desert island, perhaps even just a rock in the ocean height of 562 meters with a width of 200 meters ("Highest columnar rock in the world") in the South Pacific Ocean, 20 miles from Lord Howe. Quite possibly the island served as a prototype of a volcano exploding in the novel Jules Verne.
