Svetlana expressed deep gratitude to her mother for all her efforts, but she understood that she could count only on herself.



Her ex-husband’s fate from her previous marriage was of little interest. People say that a man needs children as long as he cares about his mother. Since he got married again, he paid all his attention to his young wife. He received alimony regularly, but the amount was minimal. In the meantime, the kids grew and their needs grew with them. To somehow secure their future, Sveta went to work in Portugal. The boys remained under the care of their grandmother.

In gratitude to her mother for the first earned money, the woman made cosmetic repairs in the old house. She did not spend on a complete alteration of the rooms, because she saved up for new housing. Svetlana planned to buy a separate apartment. It took a long time to collect, because she sent money to children every month for accommodation, food and did not skimp on gifts. It was also necessary to allocate a certain amount to the mother for treatment, and the boys for studying at the institute.



No sooner did the younger brother get a higher education than the elder decided to marry. Where will a pregnant bride lead? Sveta came for a week and bought the newlyweds a one-bedroom apartment. Then we had a great wedding, so that the neighbors were not ashamed. Now the woman set a goal at all costs to provide housing for the second son, so that he would not be offended, and if possible to buy something for himself. She flew back to the foreign land.

The news of her youngest son’s marriage did not take Svetlana by surprise, as she knew that the young people had been living in a civil marriage for six months. But deep down, I hoped that they would not hurry with the wedding. Only fate ordered otherwise. The future daughter-in-law became pregnant, and the couple decided to sign. The groom suggested to the mother not to arrange a generous feast, but she did not obey and ordered a restaurant: “You should also have everything like people!” Unforeseen expenses had to be reimbursed, and the new mother-in-law went to earn a new living space for the newlyweds.



When it came time to buy a house for a smaller brother, square meters increased significantly in price. I didn't have enough for a decent apartment. Then the older brother offered a bargain: for this amount he agreed to give up his one-room apartment. He wanted to report money and buy two rooms or a small house, because a young family with three children became crowded. The mother happily gave her savings to her children and hurried back.

Svetlana realized that she was running out of time, because her sick mother was passing more every day and in the near future will need constant care. That's what happened. Soon the woman had to leave everything and return to her homeland. The money she brought with her was not enough to buy a tiny apartment. Most of the money had to be invested in the overhaul of his father’s house, and the remaining amount was spent on medicines and funerals.
