Found a mountain of old coins from my grandmother in the village, sold to collectors for a lot of money

With the development of technology, Ukrainians are increasingly paying for services and goods by cashless means. After all, it is very convenient and fast when you are not looking for the right banknotes and coins for payment, but simply use a bank card. Quick calculation and no change (which still need to be put somewhere to not lose). Comfortable for both the buyer and the seller.

Of course, banknotes are still in demand, although coins have been losing popularity in recent years. Due to the stable increase in prices, coins of 1, 2, and 5 kopecks have already been withdrawn from circulation. Instead, we see coins even in denominations of 5 and 10 hryvnia. The variety of coins will be even more impressive.

Today's edition. "Site" I will tell you about some particularly valuable coinage. After all, sometimes we do not realize that among a handful of small things lies something very rare and valuable. Pay attention to the contents of the wallet (or piggy bank). Who knows, maybe there are a couple of coins that are worth much more than their face value.

Coins of Ukraine
  1. Even for 1 penny numismatics can pay generously. We are talking primarily about coins of 1994, which were produced in a small circulation at one of the factories of Luhansk. For this coin you can bargain 500 hryvnia and even more. Less valued penny coins 1996 — about 100 hryvnia per piece.

  2. Two-kopeck coins in this vein look more attractive. These metal banknotes of 1992 issue are estimated at thousands of hryvnia. Such coins with a narrow wreath (test batch) are now estimated at about 8 thousand hryvnia. Not so long ago at auction a rare 2-penny coin in 1992 with a wide wreath sold for almost 30 thousand hryvnia. Note that a certain value have and 2-penny coins of 1996 and 2003. For each of them, numismatists without hesitation give several hundred hryvnias.

  3. Coins in denomination of 5 kopecks were also withdrawn from circulation. However, such “petaks” at home remained for many. Especially appreciated copies of 1994, because they give 3 thousand hryvnia and even more. Coins of 1996 and 2001 have a certain value. For each of them you can get a couple of hundred hryvnias.
And here are 10-penny coins still in use, so there is a chance to break the jackpot. However, only copies of 2001 release are appreciated. For such banknotes, you can get fifty hryvnias. But if you're good at bargaining, the money will grow.

The quartet of 1995 is especially appreciated. If you managed to get such a coin, you can easily get 1–2 thousand hryvnias for it. A little less valuable 25-kopeck coins of 1992. Copies with a thick trident or coins with some other unique features also cost money. Coins of 50 kopecks also have additional value. Numismatics appreciate copies that were produced in 1992, 2001, 2003 and 2011. The cost of each of these rare coins is from a couple of hundred to a thousand hryvnias.
