What should always be remembered by owners of housing with a gas stove or column, capital truths

Installation of a gas stove in the apartment is regulated by certain rules and imposes a number of restrictions on users. But if you look around you, you realize that some do not know them, and others ignore them. These regulations are worth knowing and honoring. They do not exist for nothing, but for our own safety.



According to the results of judicial practice in 2021, there are four main bans for residents of gasified houses and apartments.

The Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 16.09.2020 N 1479 approved new Rules of fire control. If earlier it was forbidden to use faulty gas appliances, now they have added those that have not passed maintenance.



Even if the work of your stove does not cause complaints, this is not a reason to relax. There's no maintenance report? Prepare to pay a fine of up to 3 thousand rubles. If the TO act is absent due to the fact that the contract with the gas service is not signed, this entails an additional fine and a gas shutdown.



It should be borne in mind that the gas stove will not undergo maintenance if the service life specified in the passport has expired (usually from 8 to 10 years). And the rules of the Ministry of Construction require the presence of a gas control system in the stove, which automatically blocks the gas when the flames go out.

Distance to gas appliances

According to the same Fire Safety Rules, it is forbidden to place furniture or other combustible materials near the gas stove. Even the smallest kitchen from furniture to gas appliances should be 20 centimeters horizontally and 70 centimeters vertically. There are exceptions, though. For example, for embedded equipment.

According to the standards of the Ministry of Construction (SP 402.1325800.2018), a number of requirements are imposed on premises with household gas appliances. For a plate on which 2 burners, the volume of the room should be at least 8 cubic meters. If the burner is four, then this figure increases to 15 cubic meters.



The height of the ceilings should be at least 2.2 meters, it is necessary to have a ventilation channel and a window with the possibility of ventilation. As a result, it is not allowed to alter kitchens with a stove or column, if the above standards are violated.

The fact that not all apartments can now connect the kitchen hood to the general ventilation channel, for many was a surprise. Previously, it was considered the norm to purchase an hood and connect it to a ventilation shaft. This allows you to get rid of odors during cooking.



However, the regulations of the Ministry of construction is prohibited at least since 2003. The fact is that the presence of an electric hood worsens the work of natural ventilation. In case of failure of gas appliances in the apartment, gas can accumulate. For the time being, they were looking through their fingers. But after a number of incidents with gas explosions in high-rise buildings and the adoption of new RPR control has significantly increased.

As you know, ignorance of the law does not exempt from liability. Therefore, all homeowners who own household gas appliances should consult with gas service specialists about their safety. Don’t take an example from those who break the rules. It puts the lives of your family and neighbors at unnecessary risk.
