Why implant a microchip?

Even 10 years ago, chipping people seemed to us only a plot from science fiction, but today it is actually happening. In Sweden, for example, it has become a mass phenomenon. A year ago, only 100 people used microchips, but now the number of people with chips has risen to 4,000 and continues to grow. That seems a little crazy and weird, right?

Editorial "Site" Tell them why they do it and what they do. new technology in everyday life.

A microchip is a versatile device that is implanted in the hand, between the thumb and index finger. It replaces all plastic cards and all sorts of keys and passes. Just imagine that almost all the contents of your bag or wallet are in your hand. Those chips that the Swedes implant themselves, contain payment cards, a work permit, a travel card in transport and much more, which we will talk about later.

Some corporations offer to carry out the procedure of implanting the chip for free. A work pass is built into the chip, which in this form is impossible to forget at home. Corporations claim that this is only the optimization and implementation of modern technologies, but many do not share this view. And this is not strange, because there are many ways to use technology against humans, as opponents of chipping believe.

Let’s move away from conspiracy theories and talk about why people are so actively implanting chips and what are their advantages.

Functions and benefits of RFID chip
  1. The chip is embedded in electronic wallets, bank cards, travel cards, passes. All this works when you touch the right terminal.
  2. The chip is very small, about the size of two grains of rice. It eliminates the need to carry a wallet and a bunch of cards in it.

  3. In Sweden, a chip implant costs $180, and some large corporations offer their employees a free service.
  4. Manufacturers claim that the chip is not built-in GPS, which means that it is impossible to monitor a person with its help.

  5. The chip protects a person from theft. The chip works only a few centimeters from the terminal, that is, to steal information about the user, you need to somehow take possession of his hand. This is too extreme, even for robbers.
  6. Users have repeatedly confirmed that using the chip is very convenient and it does not cause any discomfort.
  7. The implantation procedure is performed using a special needle, it is fast and painless. Removing the chip is just as easy.

It seems that everything looks very good, but chip There are many opponents. Many believe it puts a person at risk and offers no guarantee of privacy. Some even believe that soon these chips will be GPS, they suggest that large corporations specially pay for the procedure to then monitor employees.

The idea of universal chipping has been discussed for a long time. The development of such technologies is aimed not only at facilitating everyday life, but also at taking care of health. Not so long ago, we talked about the idea of implanting a chip under the skin of a person, which will check the health of the user and report violations. This is a very promising technology, up to the point that it can be used to diagnose cancer early.

In general, society is divided into two camps: those who are happy with the modifications and look forward to the further development of these technologies, and those who are against it and see it only as a conspiracy theory and an attempt to turn people into slaves. Now it is difficult to say anything for sure, except that such chips are incredibly convenient and practical.

Perhaps a decade from now, after reading this article, we’ll be surprised at how careless we were or how conservative we were about new technologies.

For now, we can only watch the development of these technologies and see what happens. Remember to be careful, because technology has gone even further than we can imagine. Recently, we wrote about how mobile apps and messengers follow us. Be vigilant!

How do you feel about such modifications? Would you do that? Tell us in the comments!
