Two recipes for homemade Coca-Cola without dyes and flavors

Unbearable summer heat makes us think more often about soft drinks. But many of them, unfortunately, consist only of sugar and all kinds of chemistry.

A natural alternative is homemade Coca-Cola, two recipes of which we offer readers.

If your kids are constantly demanding Coke, offer them our drink. There is a note of the well-known cola in it, but all the ingredients are natural, and it will take no more than half an hour to cook.

Homemade Coca-Cola Recipe with oranges, lime and cinnamon Ingredients
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 lemon
  • 300g sugar (5 tbsp for caramel, the rest in syrup)
  • 1 lime
  • 2 oranges
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.25 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp natural coffee
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla essence

Preparation
  1. Pour into the pan 5 tablespoons of sugar, pour a tablespoon of water.
  2. Set on a very low fire, stirring constantly.
  3. After a couple of minutes, the water will evaporate, and the sugar will dry and look like salt.
  4. Keep stirring, after a while it will begin to melt and begin to darken. It gets dark very quickly and it is important not to bring it to black. As soon as the bubbles appear, gently pour a glass of hot water. Boil this mixture for 20-30 seconds and turn it off. The natural dye, thanks to which the home Coca-Cola will get its signature color, is ready.

  5. Wash the citrus well.

  6. Take off the citrus peel and film. Squeeze the juice.

  7. Cedar, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg and sugar pour a liter of boiling water. Boil one minute.
  8. Turn off the fire. Pour citrus juice, vanilla extract and cooked dye. Pour coffee with a cup of boiling water (150 ml), strain and add to the other ingredients. If you give a drink to children, you can not add coffee. But with it comes that special taste.

  9. Chill the syrup, put it in the fridge and strain it overnight.

  10. Serve this: a leaf of mint, a piece of ice, half a glass of syrup and half a glass of carbonated water.
