Chinese woman shows how to make a tulle of white lilies from a gray cloth
The tulle collects all the dust when we open the windows. Even if the windows are not on the roadway, the tulle has to be washed quite often. Especially if there is no air conditioning at home. Over time, the tulle becomes gray and it is difficult to bring it into the divine form. Today we will tell you how to quickly whiten the tulle at home.
It is necessary to say immediately that whiteness is not an assistant in this. First, it doesn’t always work one hundred percent. Secondly, whiteness spoils the fabric. After two or three times washing in white, you can say goodbye to your favorite curtain. So let's do the laundry carefully, using grandmother's methods, proven over the years.
Ammonia is ideal for washing curtains that have absorbed the unpleasant smell of tobacco smoke or any other “fragrance”. It also bleaches the fabric well. So, for 10 liters of warm water, use 1 tbsp. l. ammonia and 1 tbsp. l. laundry detergent. Soak the curtain in this solution for a few hours. Then thoroughly rinse the tulle in warm water and wash in the washing machine.
Before bleaching the tulle in green, it is worth washing the curtain in the washing machine. Do not bleach the tulle from dyed organza, otherwise it may change color or become spotty. Dissolve 5 drops of green in 6 liters of water. Rinse in the tulle solution after washing. Before use, make sure that the solution is uniform and not too concentrated.
Salt not only does well with whitening, but also removes soot stains. In warm water, you need to dissolve 5 tbsp. l. table salt and 2 tbsp. l. laundry detergent. Soak the tulle in solution for 4-6 hours. Then rinse the tulle well in clean water. Salt can be substituted for soda, it will have the same effect.
Before washing the curtains, pay attention to the label. Remember that thin fabrics are better not to boil and wash with aggressive cleaning products. Otherwise, you will have to buy new curtains.
By the way, this method is used by Olga Papsueva, our favorite housewife. She washes the curtains right in the laundry bag. How she manages to whiten the tulle, you can see in the video.
