Awning Sun&Shade provides shade and helps to harvest solar energy
Designer Carlo Ratti has created a reflective canopy that provides shade and directs sunlight to the photovoltaic panels generating electricity. The project Sun & Shade is a canopy with mirrors that automatically follow the sun and reflect its rays on photovoltaic panels, located on the installation safe from a distance. Carlo Ratti presented the prototype of Sun & Shade in the Museum of the future in Dubai as part of an exhibit called "Rethinking climate change".
Designer been working in the field of functional environmental art, its past projects:"the supermarket of the future," "coolhouse" in Paris and the New Holland pavilion at the Milan Expo 2015. The latest creation Carlo Ratti is based on the architectural traditions of the Middle East.
"In the process of developing Sun & Shade we were inspired by middle Eastern tradition of shading in architecture and public space," Ratti said in a press release. — "Sun & Shade is committed to raise this concept to a new level, using shading digital control".
The position of each mirror of the canopy may be installed independently from the others, allowing them to be used not only to control the shading and electricity production, but also to create various patterns and images on the ground, emerging through the shadows. published
P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
