Explorative Canopy Trail is a project of eco-structure for the Amazon forest
The 6th Layer – Explorative Canopy Trail is a futuristic project, the authorship of which belongs to the student Yi Yvonne Weng has been awarded a diploma from the Architectural Association. The project addresses the topic of sustainable infrastructure development within the Brazilian Amazon forest.
Ultra-lightweight self-sustaining and versatile system located over the crown of the trees. This new space above the trees causes new ways of interacting with the natural surroundings.
The structure is designed for scientific research, ecological tourism, development of the pharmaceutical industry and cultivation of a unique plant world of the Amazon with no damage to wildlife, and the indigenous population.
Each suspension unit consists of three layers of mesh of different densities, accessed through the internal system structure, installed with a metal support frame.
