It would seem that it is difficult to imagine that sitting in a rocking chair, you can solve this global problem as a global energy crisis. However, this idea is not far from reality. Designer Igor Himelstein have developed a prototype of a rocking chair, which is called Otarky. Traditionally, this rocking chair generates electricity, so that's enough to charge any gadget or working table lamp.
Rocking chair Otarky was presented at the annual exhibition of design in Shenkar College Isreal, where the inventor Igor Gitenstein industrial design. Because the chair is not released the original design, a lot of people at first glance does not pay attention to him and did not consider it as furniture for your home. Although the chair made of light material with elegant fluorescent lamp, is mounted to the top, looks very interesting. But as soon as people learned about the amazing features of the chair, the interest in it markedly increased.
The design features of the chair are in the linear power generator ball bearings and special magnets in the coil. Once a person begins to sway in a rocking chair this equipment converts the kinetic energy into electrical energy. The mechanism is hidden in an elegant metal runners on which the swinging chair.
Igor Gitenstein managed to turn a traditional rocking chair, which for centuries was considered a great recreational and relaxing tool in a means to combat global energy crisis. A fine example of technological evolution!
