The snail racing
The snail racing is a sport that is gaining popularity. Typically, the racing snails are our garden, more familiar in Europe. Because a large part of a competition held in the UK.
Race track is usually a damp cloth, spread out on the table. Traditional distance – 13 or 14 inches. The numbers of riders are written on the houses of huge numbers to distinguish competing. The annual "world snail racing" took its beginning in the English County of Norfolk in the 1960-ies. After the founder of That Elvis witnessed something similar in France. From that distant time, much has changed. The event has gained significant support of world famous companies.
From Norfolk, the race was moved to London. From London – to other countries. Races shown on TV. And commented on their well-known TV presenter John Kriek. One day he began a race with the words "ready! attention! samesies!" (Ready, Steady, Slow – Go instead). And this was the formula for the beginning of snail racing.
In our time, perhaps one of the most prestigious races of snails is held in the village of Salouel (which translated, means: the well of snails) in the framework of the annual summer festival. Regular event gathers 400 people. And only lives in the village of 200, including the elderly and infants. Well, the passion for the spectacle defies logic.
