Scientists said that the Martian surface is toxic to humans

Last year, the Rover "Curiosity" confirmed the fact that part of found aircraft that explored Mars: the red planet full of reactive chlorinated hydrocarbons, known as perchlorates. This news was submitted as a big surprise, because it gave hope for finding traces of life on Mars. But there is a flip side to the coin.
The point is that, despite prigoreli perchlorate for potential Martian microorganisms, they can be a real disaster for us. As stated by the expert David Leonard with Space.com these chemicals often serve as a food source for microbes on Earth, and an unusually high concentration of perchlorates on Mars would provide microbes with energy for a long time. But in humans the perchlorates behave not so friendly: they are toxic and extremely dangerous for the thyroid gland.

That's why the presence of perchlorates could be a huge problem for future missions to Mars:
"Perchlorate has become an important component of the soil, and half a percent is enough. Anyone who says he wants to live on Mars, you should think about the interaction of perchlorate with the human body. Half a percent is a lot. Even small amounts are toxic. So first you must develop a plan to combat this poison, especially because it will penetrate everywhere."
