The European Union is struggling with plastic bags

By 2019 it is planned to cut plastic by 80 %. Will mainly deal with packages with a maximum thickness of 50 microns. The deputies think that these packages do the most harm to the environment.

The fight against such garbage includes a ban on the free distribution of packages and refusal of packaging raw meat and dairy products in plastic trays.

In addition, by 2019, the EU can be amended, according to which selling fruits, sweets and vegetables will be made only in packages made of recycled paper or other biodegradable materials.

According to data for 2010, each resident of the EU used an average of 200 plastic bags. 90% of them have not been sent for processing.
