Myanmar. Bagan.

Bagan is an ancient city. This city was considered the capital of not one, but several kingdoms located in Burma. Some political reasons prevented Bagan from being listed by UNESCO. The main reason is that the military junta randomly restored not only buildings, ancient stupas and temples, while absolutely not taking into account the original style of architecture. Modern materials were also used, which simply could not replace the original ones. Despite these shortcomings, the ancient city of Bagan clearly deserves to be known.

Turkey. Celsus Library.

Celsus was a consul of the 92nd century BC, ruler of Asia in the 115th century BC. This library was built specifically to store 12,000 scrolls. It later became the tomb of Celsus. It is an architectural structure especially in that it is one of the few examples of the library of ancient Rome. It is also irrefutable proof that libraries were built not only in Rome, but throughout the Roman Empire. At the time of restoration, the workers touched only the facade, and the Roman architecture itself was not affected by time.
