The Ministry of natural resources will discuss "green" shipping

Next Monday at 10 a.m. in the premises of the Ministry of nature of Russian Federation will start its work the international conference dedicated to "green" shipping. Its organizers stated that the event will be attended by the head of the Ministry of natural resources and environment Sergey Donskoy, and the President of Fund "the action Group on the Baltic sea" Ilkka Herlin.

Besides them, also will come to attend the conference, the representatives of the Russian ministries of transport and foreign Affairs, the Finnish Ministry of transport and TSA, the consular representation of the Kingdom of Denmark in St. Petersburg, administration of St. Petersburg, Gazprom, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and KfW Bank. The main purpose of the conference, according to its organizers, will be to develop partnerships aimed at ecological well-being of marine ecosystems, which will become the basis for sustainable economic development of the region.





Main points of this work, which will be discussed at the conference will be design and technological solutions that can improve the security of Maritime transport and related infrastructure for the environment, as well as financing projects for development of environmental navigation. In addition, special attention will be given to the development of the project "green card", which will be marked with directions for the development of segments of the alternative fuels and environmental technologies in modern Maritime, and public-private partnership aiming to support environmental projects in this area.





Note that the organization of the conferences on "green shipping" has become part of the implementation of the "St. Petersburg initiative" β€” project aimed at the cooperation in the Baltic region for the protection and preservation of ecosystems of the Baltic sea area, involving not only diplomatic and environmental agencies of participating countries, but also a number of large companies.
